Ceramic Christmas Carol Singer….

I love doing several types of crafts…. Lately I have been obsessed with  Card Making and Paper Crafts but I also really enjoy knitting or Crocheting, Gardening and also painting Ceramics.  Here is one of a set of three Christmas Carol Singers that I have been working on.  I made a set of these for my mother as well but this is the first one I have finished for myself.  I keep getting distracted with all these challenges and haven’t finished the other two (another girl and a boy).  They are so cute!!

It is amazing how easy this is to paint!  When you paint all the colors on the bisque it looks really quite terrible until you add the magic paint called Antiquing.  This is an oily type paint that you brush on with a soft brush then you can wipe away as much or as little as you want to get the effect you want.  It makes all the colors blend together beautifully.

This is a close up of her face.  I have to say it took me forever to get her eyes the way I wanted to.  She still needs some gloss for her lips, eyes and tongue and then she is done!

Hello Friend….

Another entry for the Dare to Get Dirty Challenge week!  Again the details of the challenges are kept secret but if you want to play along you can always join!  This one was a tough one!  I will admit, I peeked at the challenges while I was on break at work and I was trying to figure out how I was going to pull this one off for half the day!  When I got home my Daughter asked me to make a card for her friend and then it all came together!  Gotta love it when that happens! LOL
