I am playing along with the weekly challenge on the Cheery Lynn Designs blog again this week. They are asking us to use Lots of Layers! This I can do! My friend Lynn gave me a 20 minute Skype lesson on scrapbook pages that sounded a bit complicated but made sense… I decided to have a go at it like I was making a much bigger card and found this to be really quite fun as I had so much more space to decorate! I could really learn to like this! LOL!! So as you can tell from the above picture, I just kept piling on the layers.
I also decided to make hand made flowers for my project…. I used 10 punched out flowers and sponged the edges and gave them a spritz with glimmer mist and added a button and butterfly, so technically my flowers are 12 layers In the top and bottom right hand corner I stamped my Memory Box Versailles Crest using my glue pad and pressed some matching glitter to the paper to give it a layer of glitter.
I used two Cheery Lynn Dies for my project, the Japanese Garden Lace Oval and the Large Lace Faerie Queen w/Angel Wing and these dies will be back on the shelf in no time at The Cutting Garden. As fast as Kim gets them on the shelf they sell out!
This is one of my Lovely dogs, Lacy… She is so beautiful…. I am going to take this to work with my at hang it to brighten up my office. :)
Well I am down to the wire, this will be my last entry for this weeks challenge over at the Cheery Lynn Designs blog. We have been asked to add a frame to our creations. Check this out…
The French Pastry Doily die is one of my all time favourites…. I use it so often! I decided to punch out the center of the doily to create a frame for my butterfly and bow Over at The Cutting Garden, Kim got a new shipment of Cheery Lynn Dies this week and they are selling like crazy!!! She has already put in another order!!! I also should tell you that Kim has posted so sweet Blog Candy so hop on over and get your names in for a chance to win!!! Here’s a look at the whole card…
I decided to add the Grace’s Frame embossing to the background to add another frame to my card. I have really enjoyed playing along with this weeks challenge and I already have my thinking cap on for next week! As most of you know, I am entering my creations in the Cheery Lynn Design Team call that is happening right now. Keep your fingers crossed for me please!
I hope everyone had a great weekend!!
I have a ton of different cards that I need to catch up with posting on. My friend Lauren has been a Blog Queen this week and has been posting a ton of wonderful inspiration for us… check out her wonderful blog here: http://laurenscraft.wordpress.com/. I have a bit of a back log of cards to post as well so I hope to get the bulk of it done this weekend. Here’s what I have to share with you tonight…
This is a Valentine card I made a while back but didn’t get around to posting it until now. That lovely flower wreath die is by Memory Box and it is at the top of my wish list!!! I can’t wait until the new shipment comes in at The Cutting Garden!!!
Here’s a look at the whole card….
Lately I have been leaning towards the clean and simple style… It’s nice to do something a bit different every once in a while right? I am really enjoying this new musical embossing folder I picked up. I love embossing folders, they give such fun detail to my projects
Well this is one of many on my list to post to share with you…
I hope you are enjoying your weekend!
I can’t believe that March 18th will be my one year Blog Anniversary!! That is less than a month away! Wow a year goes by so quickly it is almost shocking! I think I need to plan something extra special don’t you??? Some fun blog candy maybe??? What about some fun blog candy every week in lead up to my anniversary? I like that Idea!!! :D Check this out…
I have been enjoying posting to my blog several times a week for almost a year and to be honest, I am totally shocked that I have managed to have over 56,000 hits in less than a year!!! That tells me that I must be posting things that people are interested in so that gives me the encouragement to continue!!!
Here’s what I would like to share with you, as a thank you to my blog friends who offer me so much support and encouragement, I truly appreciate each and every one of you…
Fun right? My friend Yvonne told me how much she loved the printed butterfly ribbon so I thought I would get an extra spool and share it with you as well!
So there you have it!
Leave me a comment on this post and I will do a draw on Friday, March 3rd for the lucky winner!!
Don’t forget to pop back in for a visit… I will be posting some more candy for you to win next Saturday!!
I’m playing along again with the Cheery Lynn Designs Frame it Challenge again! I am on a roll with this one and I am having so much fun with it!! I wonder if they will kick me out if I enter too much???? LOL!! Well I guess I’m gonna put this to a test! For this challenge we are asked to use a frame on our project so I decided to make this Cheery Lynn doily die into a frame! I like the way the embossed card base shows through the center of the frame. I used the Spellbinder Spiral Blossom One die to make the flower and sponged a little pink ink on the edges. I topped my card of with a hand made pin and that’s it! Easy Stuff!!
Here’s a look at the whole card:
Thanks for visiting and as always, I love hearing from you!
I have made this card for two purposes…. First for this weeks Mix It Up Challenge where our hostess this week, Kathy (one of my favourite crafty peeps) has tasked us with using the resource section of SplitCoast to find a project to create. Check this out… Also I am entering this card in the Cheery Lynn Designs Frame it Challenge for this week. This is my second entry for this weeks Challenge!! I’m on a roll!!! They are asking us to use a frame on our creations and I used the Martha Stewart Vintage Floral Punch around the page set to use as a frame… I hope this counts!!! A few weeks ago I picked up the Cheery Lynn Designs Victorian Romance Flourish and I thought it would fit well on this project to add some interesting detail. I cut it out and snipped it here and there until I had it positioned where I wanted it
Last Saturday night I was invited to join a craft group full of very special ladies who meet at The Cutting Garden. They meet once a month to spend an evening sharing ideas and creating. Would you believe my luck???? They were all working on Diamond Fold Cards!! So I got to get started on my card last Saturday night but it took me a while to figure out how I wanted to decorate it. Here’s another look…. Check out that beautiful paper *sigh* so much glittery goodness!!! I can’t wait to get back to the store to get some more!!
Well Kathy, sorry I took so long with this…. I really hope it is worth the wait!!
Have a great evening!!
Is it possible for one to tire of making projects with butterflies? Especially a beautiful die cut such as this one by Cheery Lynn Designs? I think Not! LOL!!! Check this one out…. (No Pink Involved!) *shock* LOL!!
Over at the Cherry Lynn blog the challenge this week is for us to use a frame on our projects and this is what I came up with. I used my Nestibilites Labels Twenty to make the frame I picked both dies, the butterfly and labels twenty up from The Cutting Garden. Here’s a look at the whole card…
I topped my card off with a hand made pin and some pretty Peach colored Prima goodness!! Did you get that…. Peach… not Pink! LOL!!! The paper is by Recollections – Garden Florals.
That’s it for this one! I am in catch up mode with my posting these days…. I need to post more… (I can’t believe I just said that! LOL!!) I know I post often enough as it is but I still have a stack of cards waiting to be blogged! It’s never ending it seems! LOL!
Have a great night!
This pretty pink post is for my friend Lauren…. she loves my pink blog really!! LOL!!!
I made this card a couple of weeks ago while I was playing with all the lovely craft supplies at The Cutting Garden. I love this embossing folder and have put it very high on my wish list after making this card!!
This was such a quick and easy valentine card to make! When I started it, I had an entirely different thing in mind but this is what I ended up with. I am pretty happy with the result! I love that Martha Stewart Butterfly border punch and the lovely Memory Box Elegant Scrollwork die.
Have a great evening!
It feels like forever since I have just picked up a pretty piece of paper and just started to randomly create….
I have been drooling over this beautiful paper that Kim has on display at The Cutting Garden. I keep picking it up and admiring it until I finally decided to have a go at making something with it. In truth…. It is so beautiful, I was worried I wouldn’t be able to do it justice! LOL!!! I apologize, I forgot to make note of the name of the paper but I plan to pick up some more and I will make sure I let you know what it is in my next project.
Here is my hand made flower… I wanted to try to find some old dictionaries to use but couldn’t get my hands on one so I ended up hacking up one of Tony’s old novels he was finished with. The poor book was actually falling apart, so I felt justified, it must have been well read. I hope there isn’t any scary words on my flower because it was an old horror novel he has owned for years! LOL!
Here’s a look at the whole card…
The flourish die is by Memory Box and it is called Elegant Scrollwork, it seems to go very well with the butterfly
I hope you have a wonderful evening!
I hope everyone is having a fantastic weekend! I have been so busy I haven’t even had a chance to blog… that’s just plain shocking! LOL!!! I’ve got a really FUN project to share with you today! I am entering this in two challenges…. Mix It Up on Splitcoast, which my friend Lynn is hosting and this will be my second entry for the Cheery Lynn Designs challenge, Pretty In Pink challenge. Have a peek at this…
Don’t you just love these butterflies! This one is quite large but so beautiful! I love using it Now you might think this is another card but this is where I am mixing it up!!
I love to see what the amazingly talented Becca is creating and when I saw her tutorial here: http://www.amazingpapergrace.com/tutorial-flap-box/ I just HAD to give it a try! It was a bit tricky but I perservered and I got it to work out perfectly!!! I picked up this butterfly die from The Cutting Garden, I have a wish list a mile long of Cheery Lynn Dies, they are so delicate and pretty!
It was a really fun project and I recommend giving it a try!! (I actually made six of them!) LOL!!! I need to finish decorating the others and when I do I will post them for you to see
I hope you all are enjoying your day!
