Sympathy….

Good Morning!  Last night was a late night for me.. I stayed up chatting with Lauren on skype while Tony watched the Hockey game.  He has been following our local hockey team – The Mooseheads closely this year and they have a good chance at finishing at the top of their league.  I don’t know much about what all that means, just that they are winning pretty much all of their games.  Anyway I have a card to share with you today, a simple sympathy card for my stash…

I made this using the Just Believe stamp set I borrowed from Kim called Just Believe.  It makes beautiful sympathy cards.  I just stamped it in black and added some matching design paper.  I am off to work again today, Friday is my regular day off so it is a short week for me.

An upcoming class….

Good Afternoon!  I managed to get some yard work done today…. only a little, the wind is still quite cool but the sun is really nice.  I weeded and replanted one of my strawberry patches.  At the rate I am going, it should take me all summer to get my yard in order! LOL!  Anyway….  I will be teaching a class at The Cutting Garden on June 8th and I thought I would share the pictures of the cards we will be making…

These cards were made using my new My Mind’s Eye, The Sweetest Thing stamp set.  The first four cards were made with the My Mind’s Eye Bluebell 6 x 6 paper pad.

Butterflies…

Good Morning!  It’s finally Friday!  I am looking forward to this long weekend…. I have so much that I want to do, I don’t know how I am going to fit it all in!  Crafty time is at the top of my list and I am hoping to have a skype date with my lovely friend Lauren!  Did you know she has some lovely blog candy posted?  Pop on over to her blog and check it out!  :D

As you are probably aware, I love making cards with butterflies.  This beauty is the new Swallow tail stamp by Stampin’ Up.  My friend Carol bought it and we inked it up a couple of weekends ago.  At first I felt it was just too big but it is really growing on me!  For this card I used versamark and white embossing powder and then just rubbed some Victorian Velvet distress ink over top of it.  I rarely do one layer cards, but this stamp is perfect for them.  I am off to work today again so I had better get my day started!

Oh Martha!…

Good Morning!  This is going to be a really quick post as I am running late this morning.  You all know that Martha Stewart Punches are my all time favorite.  I love them all and the Punch All Over the Page punches, although sometimes a bit difficult to use, are favorites of mine as well.  They help you create quick and easy cards with very minimal effort.

On of the girls at work is always asking me to make purple cards for her but I find finding decent purple design paper very difficult!  Anyway… I managed to find a piece and this is what I came up with using the crochet flower pattern punch all over the page punch.  This card was put together in minutes and no matter what paper you use, the cards always turn out lovely.  I am off to get ready for work!

Use it Tuesday…

Good Morning!  I am going to share something a little different with you this morning.  I love to do fancy folds and I came across something a little different on Pinterest the other day so I thought I would give it a try.  This card is folded like a business envelope and I used buttons and string to make the closure…

Over at the Use it Tuesday blog they are challenging us to use the supplies that we hoard and avoid using because we just can’t part with them.  I’ve got lots of hoarding going on with this creation.  The glitter paper is #1… I used it to die cut my little dragonfly.  Also the paper doily… I covet all doilies and my friend Carol gave me these doilies and I know that once they are gone I won’t be able to get anymore.  Notice how I only used half the doily?  LOL!  Yup, I take hoarding to a new level.  Also, the paper I used is by My Mind’s Eye Collectable “Today”  Now I know I can get more of this paper… but I have to wait until the weekend until I get to visit The Cutting Garden again to replenish my stash.  So there you have it, it is a little different but I am happy with the finished project!  I hope you like it too!

JustRite Botanical Butterflies…

Good Morning!  It is rainy and dreary this morning and I am so disappointed because I expected to wake up to a lovely sunny day today.  Last evening I was out in my back garden and everything is turning nice and green and I am sure it is due to all the rain we have been getting so I shouldn’t complain.

I have a pretty pink card to share with you this morning using the JustRite Botanical Butterflies stamp set…

I used sterling silver heat embossing for the little butterfly image and an EK boarder punch that I haven’t pulled out in a while.  I finished the card off with a hand made flower.  So easy, yet so pretty!

Collectable…

Good Morning!  Where did the weekend go?  I am back to work today… this past week went by so quickly for me, I woke up feeling like I had missed something! LOL!  I didn’t get much crafty time in this weekend but I still have something to share with you…

Yes, it’s another one of those tag cards that I love to make.  This time I used the new paper Kim at The Cutting Garden has brought in… (I am sure my begging had something to do with it!).  This paper is by My Mind’s Eye and it is the Collectable line.  It is beyond beautiful.  I have bought individual sheets as well as the 6 x 6 paper pad.  I will probably hoard the little paper pad until I get back to the store to buy another one  That is so terrible of me! LOL!  Anyway, this is a pretty easy project and it has all the things I love…  buttons and hand made flowers and lace with a little hand stitching to finish it off.

How did I manage to forget this?

Good Evening!  I am just realizing that I forgot to post the card that I made for the May Sketch Challenge for The Cutting Garden.  Each month the Ladybugs throw out a sketch challenge for people to participate in and the winner gets a little prize.  The Bugs provide some inspiration to get everyone’s crafty juices flowing and this was the inspiration I came up with….

I totally forgot to post this card as I put it away to give to my Mother for Mother’s day!

Happy Mother’s Day to everyone!  I have had a relaxing day today after a brutal week of very long meetings.  My days started before 8am and I didn’t get home at night until after 11pm.  I am heading to bed early tonight to try to recoup and get ready for work tomorrow.

Memory Box Dies…

Good Morning!  I have another quick post for you this morning while I am getting ready for work.  I am  at work today for a half day and then I am off to meetings for the rest of the week, including Saturday! *sigh*  My brain will truly be fried by the time this is over I am sure.  Oh Well… Can’t be helped.  I have been coveting the Catalina Wreath Memory Box Die for quite a while now and I finally own it!

It is so intricate and there is so much you can do with it.  I am looking forward to spending some time playing with this die.  I have added some sweet velum flowers with little heart brads for the centers and of course butterflies!  Kim has a wall full of beautiful memory box dies at the moment and there are a few that I have been wanting to pick up but I am trying to pace myself!

Hero Arts Sizzix

Good Morning!  I have another quick card to share with you before I head off to get ready for work.  This time I am using the Hero Arts Sizzix Stamp & Die-cut set I picked up a while back from The Cutting Garden…

I like the bold colors on this card.  Cutting the panel in three equal pieces gives the card extra interest.  I am also pleased that this card is low profile and mail friendly.  I have a very busy week ahead of me, starting Wednesday at noon I am in all day meetings that will take me into quite late in the evenings so I am not sure if I will be posting every morning but I will try  Today the temperature is supposed to be lovely and warm, yesterday the sun was glorious and it is making me look forward to doing some work in my garden.  This year I plan to plant Sunflowers and I am really hoping that I will be successful with them.  I planted them the first year we owned our house and they were spectacular!
