Back among the living….

6 May

Good Monday Morning to you all…

I have been laying low this weekend trying to get rid of this ridiculous flu, it has been dragging on for what seems like forever!  I need to get on the other side of this and back to work this morning!  I haven’t been very crafty this week while I have been sick but I have loads of projects stored up to share with you.

Post1This was made using the Martha Stewart deep edge Scroll Heart punch.  This punch belongs to my friend Carol and it is absolutely my favorite edge punch… I use it often and I think I am going to have to buy her a new one because a tear comes to my eye every time I think she may want to take it back! LOL!!!  I love the layout of this card, it would make such a lovely wedding or anniversary card don’t you think?

Well I am off to get ready to start my day.  I hope you all have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Sweet and Simple…

26 Apr

Good Morning and Happy Friday!  I can’t even tell you how happy I am it’s finally Friday!  I have a very relaxing weekend planned, lots of crafty time and some of my regular chores around the house and a few walks for the dogs.  That’s It!  I am planning on doing a small re-org of my craft room tonight… I am hoping it’s small LOL!  I don’t want to tear my room apart because I want it to be in some sort of working order so I can play this weekend.

I have a card to share with you this morning that I made a while back….

You mean the world to meThe background frame die is by Cheery Lynn and it is called France Lattice Small Frame.  It is the perfect size for a regular A2 card and it cuts beautifully in my Bigshot.  I paired it with the JustRite Kindness stamp set and used white and black heat embossing.  This is a very simple card but it looks very elegant.

This is just a short post and I need to get my act in gear and get ready to start my day.

I hope you all have a lovely day and thanks so much for stopping by!

Anniversary….

Good Evening All….

I am taking a break from my day of getting caught up with my housework to post a card I made a while back….

I spent this weekend at a marathon crop at The Cutting Garden and so I am totally behind with my chores!  It’s back to work for me tomorrow but only for 3 days as Friday is my regular day off :D

The border stamp I used on this card is by Stampendous! called Elegant Border and I heat embossed it using sterling silver.

I hope everyone is having a nice evening and thanks for stopping by!!

Once in a Lifetime….

1 Jul

Whoa!  It’s a hot one today!  I am sitting on the deck (in the shade) as I post this… the AC is on in the house but It is such a spectacular day I just feel I HAVE to spend some of my day outside!  It has to be over 30 degrees out here, its so quiet an peaceful, this is such a lovely and relaxing day.  I would love to get a bit of sun because I am so white, but I feel the sun is so intense, I will burn to a crisp if I attempt it!

Here’s another card I made this weekend…. I love this new sentiment stamp I picked up from The Cutting Garden.  I will make a lovely wedding card don’t you think and after all it’s the season for weddings so I imagine I will be putting it to good use!

I hope you are having a wonderful day and thanks again for stopping by!

Black & White…

4 Jun

Hello Again Blog Friends….  My lovely Friend Lauren from Laurenscraft and I are in the middle of a fun challenge to each other using our new Stampin’ Up! Hello Doily stamp.  We are creating machines at the moment trying to push the envelope to create something nicer each time we stamp!  Here’s what I created while Lauren is loafing off sleeping :P  LOL!!  That’s not fair, our time difference is 12 hours so of course she is sleeping… I just couldn’t resist that friendly little jab….

I stamped the doily twice and used heat embossing, once in white and again in black and cut the center out of the black doily and popped it up on top of the white one.  I wanted to show off some of the beautiful ribbon Kim has in stock at The Cutting Garden. Ribbon is pretty much my favorite embellishment for anything I create.  I struggle creating anything without a bow!

What do you think of the lovely photo corners?  I have finally broke down and picked up this handy little punch at The Cutting Garden because it adds some lovely interest to the corners of my cards and can be used as a simple embellishment as well as for photos.  To finish off my project I made a hand made 5 x 5 envelope and faintly stamped the doily on to the corner.  Envelopes can be very costly to purchase and making your own is very cost effective, when made properly, they look very professional.

Thanks so much for visiting today and I hope what I have created has inspired you to get inky!

Lauren…… TAG! You’re It!  (again)  *wag tongue*

Mix It Up…. Lisa Style….

5 Feb

We have a new challenge on SplitCoast called Mix It Up and I play along as well as host in this challenge.  This week it was Donna’s turn to host  and I made my previous card to meet the challenge rules but it was obvious I hadn’t had enough coffee this morning because I dared to use three colors!!! *SHOCK*  I know I know… how could I do this when Donna said only two colors are to be used! *sigh* well I erred when I made my card and got totally body slammed when I posted and got disqualified! LOL!!!  Don’t you just love it when that happens???  Especially when you have no idea that you made the error until everyone rushes in all excited to let you know!  I FELT LIKE I WAS ON THE GONG SHOW! LOL!!!  Opps… Did I just date myself there? LOL!!!!

Check this out…. How cute is that????? *grin*

Anyway…. It was SUCH a fun morning for me this morning…. I laughed until I was weak with all the fun banter on our little Mix It Up Challenge thread…. we usually poke fun at each other every chance we get… makes for some good light hearted fun!!! I Love It!  Okay… I’ll shut up now and show you some more of what I made last night at Crop Night at The Cutting Garden!!!!  Check out their site here:  http://www.thecuttinggarden.ca/  I love that store more every time I go in!   And here’s the biggest shock of all!!!!  I think they want me to teach a class for them!!! How Fun Is That!?!?!?!?  Here’s another peek…. Okay… don’t act so shocked…. Did you NOT expect me to figure out how to put a big double bow some where on this card??? ;) LOL! So last night at crop night it was a packed house!  There were so many amazing crafty people there doing the most incredible projects!  I was literally in heaven walking around just soaking up all the crafty mojo goodness that was going on in the room!  I loved it so much I signed up for the next two crop nights!  This is one of the cards I made when I wasn’t rubber necking, checking out what everyone else was doing.  It was so fun!… there were scrap bookers there… they were making the post beautiful Scrapbook layouts… I have to say, it’s very tempting for me to have a go at scrap booking now that I have seen how fun it can be!

Okay… So I am posting this in Donna’s Mix It Up Challenge just to drive her crazy!  *I’m an instigator, that’s what I do*  LOL!!!

She asked for 1 layer… I’m giving her 6

She asked for 2 colors… I’m giving her 9

The way I see it…. When you break the rules you might as well GO BIG OR STAY HOME!   This is how I roll ;)  LOL!!

Here’s my entry…

I was so long winded I forgot to tell you that This stamp is by Darcie’s – JCS140,  it’s just the cutest stamp set  and I immediately fell in love with it, which is a surprise for me because this is totally not my style of card but hmmmm…. it seems it is possible for me to branch out a bit!  :D

Thanks so much Kim & Mel for such a fun evening!! *hugs*

Mix It Up Challenge….

4 Feb

Hi Blog Friends!  I have made this card for two reasons…. A lovely friend is recovering from surgery and I wanted to send her an extra special card to let her know that I am thinking of her and I hope she has a speedy recovery.  She is the mother of a close SCS friend of mine and I truly cherish the friendship’s I have made from SplitCoast as well as those of you who visit my blog regularly. Also, our dear Kathy is hosting the Mix It Up Challenge this week…. She has challenged us to make a Monochromatic creation and I have been struggling with this all week! LOL!!! I am surprised at how well this has turned out!  I have to say that I totally love this card.  In real life it is so whimsy and pretty!  I am starting a “For Sale” section on my blog and this is the cards that I am posting for sale.   But this first very special one is going in the mail on Monday!  I will also be offering the card kits for sale for anyone who wants to make the card for themselves and just purchase the supplies for it. Flip me an email at lisatony@hfx.andara.com if this is something that interests you.  The finished card will be $5.00 and the card kit will be $3.00 plus postage.  Here’s a look at the whole card…

I hope you have a fantastic weekend!

Marriage means Commitment….

19 Dec

Hi Everyone…. On SplitCoast Stampers we have a new Queen!  Christine!  I couldn’t resist playing along, she has a faboulous gallery and it was difficult to decide on one card to case!!!  Here’s Christine’s card that I finally decided on:  http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/1963039?&cat=500&ppuser=123414

See what I mean?  She did a fantastic job!  So here’s what I came up with…

This is a digital stamp from Bugaboo Digi Stamps.  Stella and Gus are my favorite, I always get a chuckle out of them!  The paper I used is from K.I. Memories Classic Prints paper pad.  I was trying to make this a generic card that could be given to a  man as well.  I think it would be appropriate… My goal is to make more masculine cards, I have been avoiding this type ever since I started card making.

I don’t have any bakers twine so I decided to use crochet cotton instead and I think it worked out pretty well :)

Here’s a look at the inside of the card…

How true it is! LOL!!!!  Although most people who know me feels that I am the insane one in my marriage!  That’s okay… I can live with that ;)  Thanks so much Christine for the wonderful inspiration!

Have a great day!

Lisa :)

I love being Married….

9 Sep

This is such a cute image!  It is by Bugaboo and it makes the cutest Anniversary card.  The inside reads…  I love being Married…. It’s great to find that special someone you can annoy for the rest of your life!

I colored this using my Copics and added some Stickles to give it some sparkle.

Too Cute!

L is for Love…..

24 Aug

Hi Again!!  I am posting like a fool today!!!  I just made it under the wire for the Weekly Alphabet Challenge as the deadline was today.  It was SO nice of them to wait for me to post!  I thought I would jump right back in and get the next challenge done!  I made this card for my Mother and Father In Law…. It’s their 47th Wedding Anniversary!!  This card is being mailed to England.  I love the idea of sending my cards to the winner of the challenges, so I will be making a second card right away so that it will be ready to send to the winner.  This digi stamp is from Bugaboo Stamps.  The inside of the card reads… “It’s great to find that one special person you can annoy for the rest of your life!”

I am not great with coloring, but this digi was so darn cute, I just HAD to make this for Jennifer and Harry.  I am sure they will get a chuckle out of it.

I colored the image using my copics and added glossy accents to the glasses.  The paper is from my massive pile, heap, almost mountain of scraps.  Hope you like it!

Lisa :)
