Sympathy….

15 Mar

Well it’s finally Friday!  I am pretty much out of projects to share with you as well!  I really need to find some time to get in my craft room to play and I am hoping to do that this weekend.  I am not crazy about this card but I will share it with you anyway….

Post1Post2I just have nothing to say about this one LOL!  Well, except for back to the drawing board ;)  I am off to get ready for work, hoping that this day goes by quickly!  I am looking forward to some down time this weekend :)

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Hey there…. it’s just me….

4 Dec

Good Morning!  I am off work today as Tony has some medical appointments that I want to attend with him and I thought I would drag my butt into my craft room and do a blog post.  It has been mentioned to me that people are wondering what is up with me as I haven’t been posting and crafting much lately.  To be honest, I haven’t been doing much of anything creative lately!  I need to drag myself out of this funk that I am in! LOL!!

I wondered this past weekend if I am just simply growing bored or tired of this hobby but I don’t think that is it at all.  I think I am just not great at multi tasking. My mind is preoccupied with my personal life, and I am a terrible worrier, so that has been completely taken over my creativity.  Also when I have a lot on my mind I tend to be a bit of a recluse, I prefer to just be on my own and digest (so to speak) what is going on with me, so my friends and family tend to get VERY frustrated with me.  Most of my friends are, to say the least, a bit ticked off at me so I am going to have to buck up and get myself back on track!  It’s time to push all that aside and get back to having some fun :)

Okay, enough of my rambling… you are not here to read about this drivel, you are here to see what craftiness I have been up to.  I have a whole box of projects and cards to share with you and I am determined to get posting regularly again!

This blog post has a serious tone to it, so right now I am regretting picking a Sympathy card to show you but oh well, the picture has been taken and I am going to post it anyway.  My next card, AND blog post will be much more up beat!  I promise!!! ;D

Sympathy

This stamp set is by Flourishes – Calla Lilies, it’s beyond beautiful!  I thought I would cut up the image to give it a bit of interest.  I added a tiny bit of color to the flowers and dry embossed the background.  These cards were very easy to put together and the low profile enables you to just pop them into an envelope with regular postage.

I hope you all have a great day and thanks so much for stopping by!

Thinking of you….

Hi Again Blog Friends…  I have another set of cards to share with you today….

This is one of my favorite Memory Box dies called Wild Blooms, there is just something very elegant about a white on white card. I picked this die at The Cutting Garden, Kim has a fantastic selection in stock of these beautiful dies.

I stamped the sentiment from the Flourishes Calla Lilles stamp set.

I hope you are having a great Monday and thanks for stopping by!

Black & White…

4 Jun

Hello Again Blog Friends….  My lovely Friend Lauren from Laurenscraft and I are in the middle of a fun challenge to each other using our new Stampin’ Up! Hello Doily stamp.  We are creating machines at the moment trying to push the envelope to create something nicer each time we stamp!  Here’s what I created while Lauren is loafing off sleeping :P  LOL!!  That’s not fair, our time difference is 12 hours so of course she is sleeping… I just couldn’t resist that friendly little jab….

I stamped the doily twice and used heat embossing, once in white and again in black and cut the center out of the black doily and popped it up on top of the white one.  I wanted to show off some of the beautiful ribbon Kim has in stock at The Cutting Garden. Ribbon is pretty much my favorite embellishment for anything I create.  I struggle creating anything without a bow!

What do you think of the lovely photo corners?  I have finally broke down and picked up this handy little punch at The Cutting Garden because it adds some lovely interest to the corners of my cards and can be used as a simple embellishment as well as for photos.  To finish off my project I made a hand made 5 x 5 envelope and faintly stamped the doily on to the corner.  Envelopes can be very costly to purchase and making your own is very cost effective, when made properly, they look very professional.

Thanks so much for visiting today and I hope what I have created has inspired you to get inky!

Lauren…… TAG! You’re It!  (again)  *wag tongue*

Thinking of You….

1 Apr

Good Morning Blog Friends!  It is an absolutely beautiful day here in Halifax, the sun is out and it’s not too cold :)  I have a pretty card to share with you today….

Green is a color I don’t use often and I am not sure why… (Sue would say that it is because I am obsessed with pink)  actually a lot of people would say that about me! LOL!   Yesterday we had a flower making class at The Cutting Garden and we all had a great time.   I showed the ladies how to makes these rolled flowers, I used these often on my cards, they always turn out perfectly and I like to do them in white so I can sponge on what ever color I want to match the colors I am using on my projects.

For this card I decided to try something a little different with my ribbon so I pleated it using glue dots to hold it into place.  I really like this effect :)  The paper I used is by Recollections – Garden florals and I used a Tim Holtz border die to do the fancy edge.  I borrowed this die from my friend Mel and I absolutely LOVE it so I will be picking this die up to add to my collection of “must haves” (this collection is growing quickly!)   ;)

Well I hope everyone has a fantastic day and thanks for stopping by!!

Sending Caring Thoughts…

18 Mar

I love being part of The Cutting Garden’s design team… So many wonderful opportunities to find the perfect stamps for my collection!!  Check this one out….

I am so glad I asked Kim to see if she could start carrying Flourishes stamps.  They truly are beautiful and there are so many wonderful images and sentiments to pick from!  This Flourish stamp set is called Zinnia.  I used bright white embossing powder and decided to heat emboss it on to this soft blue to make some elegant sympathy cards.

This is a very simple card to put together, just a few embellishments, a hand made pin, double bow and some pretty white butterflies added to it  gives it such an elegant yet simple look.  To me, this would be my idea of a lovely sympathy card.

I have a few projects to share with you tonight so I will keep this one brief so I can continue to post :)

As always, Thanks so much for stopping by!  I love hearing from you :)

With Sympathy….

The Cheery Lynn Designs challenge this week is Lots of Layers and I have made another entry…I used one of my favorite dies for this card – French Pastry Doily, This die cuts so perfectly every time I use it!  I love incorporating Doily’s into my creations :)   Here is a look at the whole card…

We are expecting a new shipment of Cheery Lynn Dies at The Cutting Garden any day now!  I can’t wait! :)

Enjoy your day!

Frame It….

22 Feb

Is it possible for one to tire of making projects with butterflies?  Especially a beautiful die cut such as this one by Cheery Lynn Designs?  I think Not! LOL!!!  Check this one out….  (No Pink Involved!)  *shock* LOL!!

Over at the Cherry Lynn blog the challenge this week is for us to use a frame on our projects and this is what I came up with.  I used my Nestibilites Labels Twenty to make the frame :)  I picked both dies, the butterfly and labels twenty up from The Cutting Garden.  Here’s a look at the whole card…

I topped my card off with a hand made pin and some pretty Peach colored Prima goodness!!  Did you get that…. Peach… not Pink!  LOL!!!  The paper is by Recollections – Garden Florals.

That’s it for this one!  I am in catch up mode with my posting these days…. I need to post more… (I can’t believe I just said that! LOL!!)  I know I post often enough as it is but I still have a stack of cards waiting to be blogged!  It’s never ending it seems! LOL!

Have a great night!

Lisa :)
