Good Monday Morning to you all…

I have been laying low this weekend trying to get rid of this ridiculous flu, it has been dragging on for what seems like forever!  I need to get on the other side of this and back to work this morning!  I haven’t been very crafty this week while I have been sick but I have loads of projects stored up to share with you.

This was made using the Martha Stewart deep edge Scroll Heart punch.  This punch belongs to my friend Carol and it is absolutely my favorite edge punch… I use it often and I think I am going to have to buy her a new one because a tear comes to my eye every time I think she may want to take it back! LOL!!!  I love the layout of this card, it would make such a lovely wedding or anniversary card don’t you think?

Wedding Card…

Good Morning!  Ugh!  I am up and trying to decide if I am able to get myself in gear enough to get ready for work.  This nasty flu is really hanging on unfortunately.  I haven’t been out of the house since Monday, mainly just laying on the couch dozing.  I have absolutely no appetite, which could be the only good thing about having the flu, maybe I will lose a few pounds!  One can only hope. I have to admit to you that the cards that I have been posting this week were all made last weekend, there isn’t a crafty bone in my body this week!  I have been walking into my craft room, sitting down and then getting up and walking back out.  I am just not feeling well enough to start making anything.  Okay, enough of my belly aching!  I will live where loads wouldn’t!  Here’s my card that I would like to share with you today….

Very simple but really quite elegant.  I used the Martha Stewart Double Arches border punch for the black band under the lace.  Ms. Lauren, my lovely friend from Australia sent me the lace a while back, it is so beautiful!  Thanks Lauren!!  Pop on over to her blog and say hello… she has some beautiful cards posted to share with you  I can’t remember where I got the bride and groom stamp, I have had it quite a while, but really any image would work well with this layout.

One in a Lifetime…

This is my first post on my first official day of vacation!  I am off work for a week and the weather is truly beautiful here in Halifax!  I made a pretty card this morning to share with you….

I’ve managed to tidy and organize my craft room this past weekend and I am loving sitting this morning and just randomly creating  I felt this card needed a custom envelope… this paper is so pretty!  I scored it at The Cutting Garden at the fantastic yard sale we had!  Thanks Mel!  This was your paper pad and I still can’t believe you parted with it!   It will be well loved in its new home

I picked up the inside sentiment stamp at The Cutting Garden as well…. I absolutely love this one… in my opinion its one of the nicest sentiments I have seen so far…

You will be hearing a lot from me this week I suspect… I plan to spend as much time as I can getting inky and crafting!

Envelope Tutorial…..

Good Afternoon crafty friends… I have received several messages asking me to do a tutorial for the punched edge envelopes so here it is!

This envelope measures 5″ x 6″

These instructions are for the Martha Stewart Scoring Board.

Start with an 8 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ piece of card stock.  With your triangle corner tool in place score at 3 5/8″ and then turn your page 90 degreesThen score at 3″ and again turn your page 90 degrees…

Score at 3 5/8″ again and turn 90 degrees…

Then score again at 3″….

Now cut out the little pieces where your score lines go over each other  (I know I am not explaining this well) here’s a picture to show you….

Now round off the bottom widest flap using your corner rounder…

Now use some strong adhesive Sookwang tape works the best I find.  Oh and PLEASE note where I put the tape…. Like a dunce I taped the actual flap twice and ended up gluing my envelop shut TWICE!  *roll eyes*  here’s a pic…

Still with me?  LOL!!!

Now using a Martha Stewart Punch Around the Page punch set start with the corner and punch the envelope flap… once you have punched the corner line up your punches and punch down both sides of the flap….

Almost done!!!  Now cut a 4″ x 4″ piece of matching design paper to decorate your envelope and adhere it to the inside flap of your envelope…

And there you have it!!!…..

How slick is that huh?  Here’s a peek at the card and envelope together…

Happy I Do Day and a Free Sentiment Digi….

Well the weekend is coming to an end and I am busy getting prepared to go back to work tomorrow but in between chores I am still creating!  I want to squeeze every bit of enjoyment out of this long weekend as I can!  I asked Tony to make a digi sentiment stamp for me today for wedding cards and as usual, he out did himself!  Check this out!…

Can you see the shaded little wedding bells in the background?  What a sweet little touch this adds!  Following my rule of using up as much of a sheet of design paper that I cut into, I made two cards and have enough left over to make some matching envelopes and that will be my next project.  I have been asked to do a tutorial on the custom envelopes so I will try to get it done today so pop back and check it out if you are interested.

This is one piece of double sided design paper and I just used the reverse side to do the second card.  I love these dies that I picked up at The Cutting Garden.

Once in a Lifetime….

Whoa!  It’s a hot one today!  I am sitting on the deck (in the shade) as I post this… the AC is on in the house but It is such a spectacular day I just feel I HAVE to spend some of my day outside!  It has to be over 30 degrees out here, its so quiet an peaceful, this is such a lovely and relaxing day.  I would love to get a bit of sun because I am so white, but I feel the sun is so intense, I will burn to a crisp if I attempt it!

Here’s another card I made this weekend…. I love this new sentiment stamp I picked up from The Cutting Garden.  I will make a lovely wedding card don’t you think and after all it’s the season for weddings so I imagine I will be putting it to good use!

Clean & Simple…

Happy Monday to everyone!  The weekend is over and it’s back to work for me today.  I thought I would take a minute this morning while sipping my coffee to share a card that I made over the weekend.  I have a box full of cards all waiting to be posted and as usual, this box is getting over filled and I need to get them photographed!  Have a look at this one… Kim from The Cutting Garden was kind enough to lend me her beautiful Stampin’ Up Hello Doily stamp.  I absolutely LOVE it!  :D  After seeing how well this card turned out I am just going to HAVE to get it for myself!  I find that my style of card making is changing drastically, I am veering more towards clean and simple cards regularly now although I still love the bumpy busy style also!  Look at that beautiful gem in the center… My lovely friend Lauren from Australia sent a package of these to me and up until now, I couldn’t bear to use them they were so pretty and I just wanted to hoard them! LOL!!!  Pop over to Lauren’s blog and say hello!  She has some fantastic pic’s of her beautiful stamping space posted!

I am hosting this week’s Mix It Up challenge and I really struggled with coming up with something creative for the challenge so I asked everyone to use border punches on their projects.  This border punch is by Recollections and it one of my newer additions to my fast growing collection.  I love LOVE punches!

Mix It Up Challenge….

Happy Sunday!  It has been such a beautiful day here in Halifax today!  The sun is out and it was warm enough for me to open up the windows and let all that lovely fresh air in FINALLY!!!  I love this time of year, signs of spring are everywhere!

Over on the Mix It Up Challenge thread it’s new challenge day and it looks like I’m up again!  Soooooo I thought I would give them a really easy on this week….  I thought we could show off our beautiful border punches and I know you all must be hoarding….  Have a look at this….

This border punch is actually part of the Martha Stewart Wild Flowers Punch Around the Page set.  It is a very deep punch but it is  totally beautiful!  Kim from The Cutting Garden sent me home with this Flourishes Poppy stamp set to see what I would create with it.  I am truly terrible with coloring… It really isn’t my thing at all so I decided to use heat embossing to see if I could create something nice.

I am not sure how happy I am with this effort but I’m okay with it… It is what it is  Overall I like the card layout anyway

So this is the first card that I am posting for this week’s Mix It Up challenge.  I have a few more all ready to post so stay tuned!

 

On Your Wedding Day….

Hi Again, I was playing around with my new Martha Stewart Punch around the Page set – Scroll Lace and I thought I would make a wedding card as I don’t have any in my stash.  Here’s what I came up with…

   I found this paper at the bottom of my scraps pile so I am unsure which paper pad this is from.  I really need to get more organized about this sort of thing.  I have some ideas for organization bouncing around in my head and I need to do some changing up of my craft room to get things in better order.

I used my ek Dimensional Punch – Dahlia for the flower.  I really love these punches!  There is another that I have my eye on and I doubt very much that I will be able to hold myself back from buying it for too much longer!

My friend Carol dropped in for a visit and surprised me with 4 of these lovely metal charms!  They are so beautiful, I don’t know how I will be able to part with them LOL!
