My Sister… My Friend…

25 Jul

A friend at work asked me to do up a gift set of cards for her Mother for part of her birthday present.  She picked out several cards from my stash and asked me to alter one to make it a card for her Mother’s sister.  I searched high and low at my local craft stores but could not find one stamp with the word Sister.  How strange is that????  I came home and mentioned this to my husband and he turned on  his computer and made a Digital stamp for me!!!

This took him all of about 15 minutes, I was totally impressed!  He also made the SVG  for the loopy boarder mat and the butterfly  and I used Sure Cuts Alot and my Cricket to cut it out.  I decided to make two cards for her to pick from.  Here is a closer look at the fun little Digi that my husband made for me…

How cool is that???

I hope she likes them.

Splitcoast Christmas Card Challenge….

23 Jul

Hi again everyone,  As you might have seen in previous posts, I have entered the Splitcoaststampers Christmas Card Challenge.  I am ahead of the game with this challenge as I have committed to make 5 Christmas Cards per month.  I have already made my July cards so here are my August Christmas cards…..

I used the Stampin’ Up – Flaky Friends stamp set.  This is a retired set, it is so cute!  I love ANYTHING with snowmen 🙂  I made six of these cards so that sorts out my August cards 🙂  I really should up my limit, committing to 5 cards per month was a bit too easy of a target to meet 🙂  Oh well!

Thinking of you….

Friday Free for All….

22 Jul

Happy Friday!

I had a great day!  I went to lunch with my sister Joann and then we hit the craft stores for a little while to see what was new.   I decided to join in on this weeks Free for All challenge on Split coast.  Here’s my card…

I used the Martha Stewart Eyelet Lace punch around the page set and some plain pink and white cardstock.  The challenge asked for us to use two of something so I  used two eyelet lace mats and two butterflies.  Here’s a closer look at the daisy flower in the center…

This is such a quick and simple card to make!  I made it in about 10 minutes 🙂

Mojo Monday – 200

19 Jul

Hi All,

I really enjoyed playing along with Mojo Monday last week so I couldn’t wait to give it another go!  This week they have several $25.00 gift certificate up for grabs for Verve stamps!!!  Here’s the link to this week’s sketch challenge:  http://mojomonday.blogspot.com/2011/07/mojo-monday-200.html I don’t have any Verve stamps as yet and I they are SOOOOO on my wish list so my fingers are really going to be crossed for this challenge!!!! (maybe my toes too if I can manage it!!)  Here is my entry for this week….

For this card I used paper from The Blossom Song Stack made by DCWV.  I used the Double Arches punch around the page set by Martha Stewart.  I also made my fan rosette from the same paper stack using my Martha Stewart scoring board.  Here’s another view…

I used my Large and Medium daisy punch to make the flowers and I embossed the petals of the larger Daisy.

Hope you like it!

Congrats to Teri, Splitcoast’s Featured Stamper!

17 Jul

Happy Sunday Everyone!

Today is the last day of my vacation, back to work tomorrow *sigh*.  Oh well, I have another week booked off in August to look forward to!!

I want to say congrats to Teri for being Featured Stamper today on SplitCoast!  This is the beautiful card of Teri’s I chose to case:  http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/1786942?&cat=500&ppuser=142020  and here is what I came up with:

As you can see I struggle with clean and simple cards, but if you check out Teri’s gallery you will be in for a treat!  She pulls it off beautifully!  Her style of card making is amazing!  For this card my husband made the swirly mat SVG for me and I used Sure Cuts Alot and my Cricut to cut it out.  He is so awesome at creating SVG’s!  The stamp I used is by KaiserCraft – Friendship sentiments and the paper is DCWV – The glitter Stack.  Here’s another view….

I added some stickles to the butterfly to give it some shimmer.  In the next pic you can see how the butterfly is double layered…

I hope you like it!

Have a great day!

Lisa 🙂
