Happy Birthday….

30 Jun

Hi Again Blog Friends….  I am always on the hunt for some pretty purple design paper and I was thrilled that Kim brought some into the store!  I bought several pieces of it and used it on my books but I ran out before I made any cards with it!  My lovely daughter Vicki walked to The Cutting Garden, In the rain last week while I was at work  to get me some more!  Thanks Vicki!!! *hugs*  you are the best!!!  Here is one of the cards I made using the pretty purple paper….

I love this pretty card layout, I used velum under the sentiment so you could see the color of the design paper under it.  Oh and Donna, no I didn’t make the flower lol!  I picked a pack of these beauties up at The Cutting Garden as well.  I usually hoard my Prima flowers but lately I have been forcing myself to use them 🙂

Well that’s it for my second post of the day… I am on a roll! LOL!  It is so nice out this evening I think I will stay put here on the deck and continue posting away!

I hope you are having a wonderful evening and thanks for stopping by!

Pretty Pink All Occasion…

30 Jun

Hey there Blog Friends….

I have had the most fantastic day!  I have been sticking close to home today puttering around the house and crafting up a storm! That’s my idea of a wonderful relaxing day!   It was a crazy week for me at work so this is just exactly what I needed.  It is now almost 6:00 pm here and Tony is busy at the BBQ making supper and I have decided to get some blogging done…. hold on to your mouses… I have quite a few projects to share with you tonight so hopefully I will get through some of it….

Here’s my first card, I have started it a while ago and decided to pull it out of the unfinished pile and get it done….

I love this Memory Box butterfly die… it is so delicate and pretty and it totally cuts like butter… absolutely effort free!

I stamped the background paper with a lovely intricate flourish stamp by Stampin’ Up.  It is fun to make your own design paper, you can make some very unique designs 🙂

I hope you are enjoying your day!  I know I am!  The weather is so fantastic here in Halifax… it’s lovely and warm with a beautiful breeze on our deck…. perfect for kicking back, relaxing and sipping cold crisp wine.  *sigh* Life is Good! 😀

Thanks for stopping by!

For You….

28 Jun

Hi there Blog Friends…. I am as usual behind with posting *sigh*  This has been a crazy busy week for me with work and making all those crazy books for some of my coworkers I haven’t had much time to post some of the back log of cards that I have made.  Here is another card that we had a class on last week and I am just getting around to posting now….

This is a simple little card and matching envelope…

I am so looking forward to this weekend to have some time in my craft room to relax and create!  I have one more day of work and then off for three to play!  I am planning on trying to make something new and I just can’t wait to get started!

I hope everyone has had a great week and thanks so much for stopping by!

Now for Purple!

25 Jun

I am having a blast making these books!  I picked up some beautiful papers in purple and set off to work on another…. This is just a quick post as I am off to bed, I have to work in the morning….

I am working on another book using some pretty green colors and I will hopefully post that one tomorrow night if I can get it finished.

I hope everyone is having a great night and thanks for popping by!

Graduation Book….

24 Jun

Hello again Blog friends, you are going to have to bear with me for this post because it’s going to be another really long one!  A friend at work asked me to make her daughter a book for graduation and she asked that I make part of it nautical themed so here is what I came up with for her….

I am totally enjoying this book making kick that I am on!  It is so much fun making something different!

It would take me forever to list all the supplies I used for this book but if you have any questions I will make sure that I reply to your comments.  The paper line I used is from The Cutting Garden KaiserCraft Sweet Nothings Collection and Kim has this in stock.  It is absolutely beautiful!

I couldn’t resist heat embossing the Stampin’ Up! Hello Doily stamp…. I am obsessed with that stamp! LOL!!!  I added a beautiful pin, this is one of my favorite pages, I love how this one turned out.  Its great to be able to just randomly decorate each page anyway you want to.  I told Mary Anne that I would give her lots of places in the book to write little notes to her daughter so I added lots of tags for her to write on.

When you untie the bow on this page it opens up and she can write what ever she likes on it or she can stick small pictures in it.

Here are some more tags that I attached with a brass brad and they swivel so she can be moved to read the messages on each one.

What’s a book with out butterflies?  Need I say more?  lol!

Mary Anne’s daughter loves sailing so I added some pages dedicated to what she loves, this is a beautiful stamp and unfortunately the picture doesn’t do it justice, I used chalks on the clouds and water.. it turned out quite lovely.

More nice little tags she can used to write on, I put several in as other family members may want to write notes of encouragement to her.

This is a butterfly I had left over from a class I did a while back and the colors fit in perfectly so I couldn’t resist the chance to use it.

And finally, this is the back cover *happy sigh*  This was such a fun project to make, I loved working on every single page!

I hope you are all enjoying your weekend and thanks so much for stopping by!!

Wishing you all the best….

This is another card we made in class last night.  This time we learned how to paint using Distressed Inks, this is my favorite way to use this type of ink…

This stamp is by Flourishes – Lenten Rose, beautiful isn’t it:  I have made several cards with this set 🙂  I also made a beautiful envelope to match this card….

I love making these envelopes… there are loads of ways to make them and you can make them custom to fit the thickness of your cards.

I hope you are having a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Last Night’s Card making Class….

22 Jun

Hey there Blog Friends…  Friday is finally here and it’s my day off!  I spent last evening teaching a very large (in my books 15) card making class and I realized, I never posted pics of the cards on my blog! *shock*

I love using my blog as a record of my crafty efforts and also to be able to share inspiration with like minded people so I hope what I create inspires you to sit back, relax and create something beautiful 🙂  Also, I love hearing from you especially if something I make inspires you, so leave me a comment and let me know who you are and what you have created so I can do the same 🙂

Here is one of the cards we made last night….

This is a Double Z fold card and It was an absolute TON of work! LOL!!!  I can’t remember how many cuts it took but I think around 14 or so!  I told the class to just think of it as a puzzle and they got right to it and we assembled it with out any trouble at all.  *whew*  I dodged a bullet on this one LOL!!!

Here’s a look at the inside of the card… I can’t resist layering… this is my favorite type of project… all pink, girlie and layered up! LOL!!!  So with a big ole bumpy card like this I felt I needed a custom envelope to go with it.  The card took ages to develop and it turned out so pretty I felt I needed a very special envelope to put it in…..

So there you have it… All 15 ladies went home with smiles on their faces and I am confident they were pleased with the class.  I have two more cards that we completed last night to post and I will try to get them posted here today.

I hope you are having a great day and thanks so much for stopping by!
