Good Evening Everyone…
One more post for me tonight. This time it is another class that I will be teaching at The Cutting Garden in May.
Thanks for stopping by!
Good Evening Crafty Friends!
I have had a fantastic day crafting with some friends at The Cutting Garden. Kim asked if I could develop a couple of masculine card classes for her so here is what I came up with…
I love making masculine cards! I really am happy with how these turned out 🙂 The Stamp set is by My Favorite Things – Lighthouses and Kim carries all the supplies used for these cards at The Cutting Garden.
I hope you are all having a lovely Easter weekend and Thanks so much for stopping by.
I am still on the card/tag kick… I pulled out some of my favorite tools and dug into my scrap bin and this is what I came up with. The dress form stamp is by My Mind’s Eye and it is one of my number 1 favorite stamps, it is such a shame that it has been discontinued, I wanted to pick up this stamp set for my friend Lauren, she loves it! Speaking of Lauren, she made the flower I used on this project! She sent me a sweet package of flowers and I have to start using up things instead of hoarding them! Thanks Lauren! This flower is perfect for this card! You can check out her blog HERE, she has loads of wonderful ideas to share with us along with some fantastic tutorials!
Pretty much everything I used for this project came from The Cutting Garden. Martha Stewart Punch Around the Page punch sets are a bit of an obsession for me. I love them, and admit freely, I own way to many of them but I can’t help myself! This set is called Flourish Lace and I like it because I feel I can use it on masculine projects as well. I also really love doily dies and the die I used for the inside is by Cheery Lynn – Pinwheel Doily. It really is beautiful and it cuts like a dream! I made the flower detachable so that it can be used as a bookmark as well 🙂
I hope you all are enjoying this lovely long weekend! I have been very crafty so far this weekend and that means I will have loads of projects completed to share with you. I’ve been doing some flower making as well, which I have been really enjoying.
Thanks for stopping by!
Good Morning! I am so looking forward to this weekend! Easter Weekend which means four days off work for me. Gotta Love It! I have been lazy about positing this week… Too tired to spend any time in my craft room after work I’m afraid. Oh well, after today I am sure I will get some play time in 🙂 Here is what I have to share with you this morning…
I used the beautiful new Martha Stewart deep edge border punch called fans and flourishes that Kim brought in to The Cutting Garden. This is fast becoming one of my favorites! The paper is by Recollections – The Sweetest Thing… It is full of fun bold prints.
Well I am off to work again today! I hope you all have a great day and thanks for stopping by!
Good Morning! This is just a quick post this morning, I am busy getting ready for another day at work. I have been in the Mixed Media mode this week but today I am back to paper crafts…
I found this cute little image on Pintrest, I printed it off and decided to make a tag with it, possibly for an Easter gift. I love the vintage look to this, I don’t do a lot of vintage things so I thought I would give it a try 🙂
Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!
Good Morning! What a morning! Ugh! We are having a nasty storm and I am not looking forward to heading out in it to get to work! I work downtown so I take the bus for convenience, but it isn’t very convenient when we are having a snow storm! Oh well… I have a really nice long warm coat so I will survive. Our mornings have become a bit crazy lately… My oldest dog Sasha, who is only about 6 has decided that she is afraid to go down the stairs *sigh* so we spend about 20 minutes each morning trying to gently coax her to come down with us. The dog is SO neurotic about certain things it’s crazy! This is her new phobia I guess… I need a dog shrink I think! She is too big to just pick up and carry.. well we could carry her easily enough but she struggles so much we are afraid to carry her down in case she makes us fall. I am not sure how we are going to sort this little problem out but we are going to have to figure out something! Okay enough gab… on with my project. This is my last canvas for a little while, this one is totally a Pinterest inspired one….
I think next time I would make my sunflower a little smaller but all in all, I am really quite happy with my first attempt at this. This is not my usual style and favorite colors but sometimes you just have to step out of your comfort zone.
Happy Wednesday and I hope you all are having better weather than we are here in Halifax!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
Good Morning! I am back to work today after a nice long weekend. I spent yesterday home alone in my craft room playing with my mixed media supplies and researching loads of tutorials that are available on pintrest. I decided to just abandon all of that and just apporach it like a card in a layout that I was happy with….
Again, I am using My Mind’s Eye paper…. It’s one of my favorites. 🙂 A couple of weeks ago I picked up some scalloped circle punches from Kim at The Cutting Garden because I wanted to make flowers with them and they were a quick and easy tool for me to make up a bunch of them. I love being able to make my own flowers for my projects because you can always find corresponding paper to make them match your projects perfectly.
I used one of my music stamps and stamped all over the flowers and then spritzed them with water and crumpled them up. They turned out so pretty! Modeling Paste is one of my favorite things about Mixed Media projects. I love to use it with stencils and the one I used on this project is called Mini Bubble Doily. I sprayed it with some 7 gypsies pastel pink color wash once it dried.
I wanted to have some type of interesting border to this so I used the Martha Stewart Wild Flowers punch around the page punch set. I love the pretty soft feeling it gave to this project. Kim got a new Butterfly punch in at The Cutting Garden by Martha Stewart and I just HAD to have it *roll eyes* I really wish I could get off this butterfly kick but it doesn’t look like that is going to happen anytime soon! LOL!!! This punch is really neat… it is a double punch so it punches a solid background butterfly and the another more detailed one for on top. I have only just begun to play with this punch.. I am sure it will become my new favorite 🙂 The flourish is by Cheery Lynn and I have this die in two different sizes, I use these dies often.
So there you have it! A super fun project… lovely and messy, just how Mixed Media art is supposed to be! I hope you have a chance to give it a try! If you ever have any questions, please feel free to leave a comment and I will be happy to answer what I can for you.
Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your day!!!
