Happy Monday to you! *Ugh* I have a miserable cold and haven’t been out of the house all weekend. I have to head off to work today but I thought I would share the first card I made with my new stamp set by My Mind’s Eye! This one is called The Sweetest Thing – Bluebell Remember. These little stamp sets are my absolute favorite and Kim has them in stock right now! I believe Kim is bringing in two other new sets from the Lost & Found Line and I just simply can’t wait! Here’s my card…
The paper I used for this project is from the 6 x 6 Lost & Found 3 paper pad. Kim has brought in a supply of these as well, the little paper pads are perfect for card makers and the papers mix and match so well with each other. I really think this is a fun layout and I will definitely use it again in the future. The butterfly punch is also from The Cutting Garden. It is the new Martha Stewart double butterfly punch, I love it that you can cut out a detailed butterfly or just a solid one, this is come to be my go to punch. Well I am off to get ready for work!
I hope you all have a great day and thanks for stopping by!!
Good Afternoon Everyone! I was supposed to be reorganizing my craft room last night and today but my new desk is not going to be arriving until Monday so that means I have the weekend to play in my craft room before I start tearing it apart! I need to apologize to Sharon for my late post today, I usually post in the mornings but on the weekends I am very slack with posting I am afraid. Better late than never???
Today I am playing along with the My Mind’s Eye April Sketch Challenge. This is a very new thing for me because it is a Scrapbook Layout Sketch! YIKES! I don’t know anything about Scrap booking so I am really hoping that I will get away with just thinking of it as a really big card. This is only my second attempt at a layout, my first ended up too bumpy so I had to keep that in mind while creating this…
Here is the Sketch….
And here is what I came up with….
As you all are probably aware… My Mind’s Eye Paper and Stamps are my #1 favorite. I am always asking Kim at The Cutting Garden to bring in more of their products and she always happily gets me what I want. They have come out with a new line of stamps and I snagged one of them this week and spent last night making a bunch of cards with it. You will see loads of creations with my new stamp set in upcoming posts. Anyway… back to my layout.
This is my lovely girl Lacy… she is 4 and is a Blue Merle Sheltie 🙂 I used My Mind’s Eye paper some Lost & Found 2 and Lost & Found 3 to create this layout.
I don’t like how my journaling turned out so I am going to have to work on that, but I am overall pretty happy with how this project turned out.
I hope you all are having a great day and thanks for stopping by!
Good Morning and Happy Friday! I can’t even tell you how happy I am it’s finally Friday! I have a very relaxing weekend planned, lots of crafty time and some of my regular chores around the house and a few walks for the dogs. That’s It! I am planning on doing a small re-org of my craft room tonight… I am hoping it’s small LOL! I don’t want to tear my room apart because I want it to be in some sort of working order so I can play this weekend.
I have a card to share with you this morning that I made a while back….
The background frame die is by Cheery Lynn and it is called France Lattice Small Frame. It is the perfect size for a regular A2 card and it cuts beautifully in my Bigshot. I paired it with the JustRite Kindness stamp set and used white and black heat embossing. This is a very simple card but it looks very elegant.
This is just a short post and I need to get my act in gear and get ready to start my day.
I hope you all have a lovely day and thanks so much for stopping by!
Good Morning Crafty Friends, I am posting a bit late this morning. I have an appointment at the hospital so I had a few extra minutes to pull myself together before I head out. I made this card/tag for a friend at work who had a birthday yesterday….
This one has all my favorite things. My Mind’s Eye paper, butterflies and hand made flowers. I also really like to do a bit of sewing on my cards, it’s the little things that make the card I think 🙂 I used my little rolled flower dies and scalloped circle punches to make the flowers. Here’s a peek at the inside….
So Pretty! I really like how this one turned out and Joy loved it so that’s what is important 🙂
I hope you all have a great day and thanks for stopping by!!
Good Morning! We’ve made it to Wednesday! The weekend is getting closer and I am seriously considering a bit of an overhaul of my craft room this weekend. In truth, I am a little afraid LOL! Hopefully I will get a burst of energy by the end of the week and dive right into this little project, but right now I am on the fence. The thought of it just seems huge, I have SO much in there, I am just at a loss as to how to organize it better. Oh well, I’m sure it will come to me 🙂
My last post was a card that Ms. Lauren from Laurenscraft and I made together. I love crafting with Lauren, she always gets my mojo flowing!! Again we had a peek at Pinterest to get some inspirations, there are so many great card sketches out there and it is fun to try new things. We found a card similar to this one and settled in to start creating. Here is the second one we made…
Lauren is such a keener, she gives all the measurements for this card over at her blog so skip on over there if you want to know the deets, and to see her version of our card 😉 The stamp I used is from My Minds Eye, Lost and Found 2… I believe this is a discontinued set which is so sad, I love this little set but the good news is, Kim is getting in the new line of Lost and Found 3 stamps any day and I can’t wait to get my hands on them!
The paper I used for this card is also by My Minds Eye, its a 6 x 6 paper pad that Kim has in stock. I love using 6×6 paper pads because it makes it so easy to find matching paper for your creations. These pads are generally double sided and all the paper goes together perfectly!
I am off to work again today, it is a rainy day here but the temperature is steadily going up and I am thankful for that. I am really itching to get outside and enjoying my gardening this spring!
Thanks for stopping by!
That’s what I would like to be doing right now…. Sailing away on some cruise ship to somewhere sunny and warm *sigh* It’s going to be a rainy day here in Halifax and it’s quite nippy out so I am going to have to layer up to go to work today. I just refuse to pull out my winter coat again *stomp foot*. Ms. Lauren from Laurenscraft had some time to get crafty together this weekend! I love our skype crafting sessions. This time she had me dive into our much loved Pinterest account to find some inspiration to get inky. I came across an awesome masculine card I wanted to CASE and here is what I came up with….
It was a simple card to put together but holy hannah it was messy! I am still struggling with getting the ink out from under my fingernails. I need some rubber finger guards before I attempt this again! I used white heat embossing for the anchors and boat stamp and then rubbed walnut stain Tim Holtz ink over the images and around the edges. Then I made a paint brush nice and wet and dipped it into the walnut stain (using a drop or two from the re-inker) and splattered the whole card.
Tony’s brother’s birthday is coming up and he needed a birthday card for him so this is what we will be sending across the pond to England for Geoff 🙂 I am pretty sure Geoff doesn’t have any interest in my crafty blog so I don’t think he will see it 😉 The Stamps I used were: Sail Away from Stampin’ Up (the Boat… Thanks Kim for lending me this stamp) I am putting this stamp on my order for the next Stampin’ up order. And the Anchors are by Just Rite – Anchors Away. Pop over and see what Ms. Lauren created for our little challenge!
Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!!
Good Morning! Where did the weekend go? Mine went by so fast, I didn’t get much time in my craft room this weekend at all so I am going to be trudging back to work today wishing for a do over! LOL! Oh well… I am hoping I can lock myself away in my happy place this coming weekend and get some time in to get some projects I have planned for gifts done! I have a couple of cards to share with you this morning. I have made these, trying to use up some of my scrap papers….
I used the same layout, just different colored design papers and pretty rolled flowers. This is just a quick post today and I am busy getting ready for work. I hope you all have a great week and thanks for stopping by!
