Altered Box…

30 May

Good Morning Blog Friends!

A co-worker asked me to make an altered box and card for a gift for her aunt.  She asked for dark wood and purple and I was unsure how this would turn out but in the end, I really like it!

Altered Box 003I just used regular craft paint and water to stain the wood and then put a healthy layer of sealer over top of it, once it dried and then started decorating.

Altered Box 004I really enjoyed making this project.  I think I would like to make another one this weekend! Kim recently got some amazing buttons in at The Cutting Garden and I used one in the center of my flower for my card.  Love It!!!

I hope you all have a great day and thanks for stopping by!!!

Elements of Style…

29 May

Good Morning!  I am so pleased that I got this stamp set before it retired from Stampin’ Up!  I use this set often, I love how elegant it is.

Post13This card was just simply heat embossed using white and then I rubbed Tim Holtz  faded jeans destress ink over top of it.  I think it turned out very pretty and it was very simple to make.

I hope you all have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Good Morning!

In preparation for father’s day I thought I would made up some masculine cards for my stash.  I often sell my cards to people at work and I have a box of cards for sale at The Cutting Garden (Thanks Kim!!!)…. the money I make from my cards helps fund my crafty obsession which, as I am sure you know, can be quite expensive! LOL!!  Anyway,  here are some of the Masculine cards I made on the weekend….

Happiness…

26 May

Good Morning!  I thought I would post some pictures of an upcoming class that I am teaching at The Cutting Garden.  This is another My Mind’s Eye class, which is hands down my favorite brand of stamp sets.  I love how quirky they are, you can do so much with them!  This set is The Sweetest Thing Honey “Happiness”.  I LOVE everything bee’s so this set really called to me.  I thought I would do something a little different and try to do a clean and simple style class…

Happiness 001Happiness 002Happiness 003I stamped all the insides of each card and also hand made the envelopes and stamped them as well.

Happiness 004Happiness 005Happiness 006I struggle with clean and simple cards usually, but for some reason this one was quite easy for me to put together.

Happy Sunday to you all!  Thanks for stopping by!

Canvas….

25 May

Good Morning!  It is a VERY rainy Saturday here in Halifax, we are expected to get 50 ml of rain today so it is a good day to spend inside and get some crafting done.  I made this canvas about a week ago while crafting with my friend Lauren on Skype.  I had to make something as an example for a co-worker who was bringing her family over to my place for craft day.  Lauren of course is always up for a challenge and she dove right in and made one herself!  Her canvas turned out much nicer than mine!  She will post hers shortly and you should check it out!  Here is the link to Lauren’s Blog   Lauren and I always have such a good time crafting together 🙂  Okay, enough gab, here is my canvas…

Sympathy….

22 May

Good Morning!  Last night was a late night for me.. I stayed up chatting with Lauren on skype while Tony watched the Hockey game.  He has been following our local hockey team – The Mooseheads closely this year and they have a good chance at finishing at the top of their league.  I don’t know much about what all that means, just that they are winning pretty much all of their games.  Anyway I have a card to share with you today, a simple sympathy card for my stash…

Post12I made this using the Just Believe stamp set I borrowed from Kim called Just Believe.  It makes beautiful sympathy cards.  I just stamped it in black and added some matching design paper.  I am off to work again today, Friday is my regular day off so it is a short week for me.

I hope you all have a great day and thanks for stopping by!!
