Good Morning!  This is a really quick post as I am heading out the door to work.  A friend at work asked me to create two baby books for her brother as he and his wife are having twins!  Have a look…

Precious Memories…..

22 Aug

Hey there Blog Friends…

I am still in Memory Book mode!  I am having so much fun creating these and I am using it as a good excuse to use my pretty Cheery Lynn dies!  I am on vacation this week so I am spending some time just relaxing and having fun with my crafty goodness.  In preparation for our visit from the owners of Cheery Lynn Designs, Kim at The Cutting Garden asked us to create like crazy, using  our Cheery Lynn products so we can show them how much we love their dies and what we can do with them.

Here’s another fun memory book I made using some of my favorite dies and punches…

I am also a big fan of Martha Stewart Punch Around the Page punch sets and I have pulled a few of them out to create some of the background mats for pictures.  I will be bringing all my books to The Cutting Garden for Saturday if anyone wants a closer look!

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!!

Cheery Lynn Memory Book….

19 Aug

Good Afternoon blog friends and happy Sunday!  I am on vacation this week and I plan to spend loads of time getting crafty!  I have loads of projects completed but I have been lazy about blogging for the past couple of days but I am getting back at it and hope to bring you up to date with what I have been up to….

Memory Books!  Yup, I am on a total memory book kick this past week or so and I have four books completed and a fifth in the finishing stages!  Don’t ask me what I am going to do with all of these books but I’m sure I will find use for them 🙂

Over at The Cutting Garden, Kim has challenged us to dig out our Cheery Lynn dies and start creating in preparation for our visit from the owners of Cheery Lynn Designs!  Everyone is so excited to attend the make and takes and see all the new crafty goodness they have to share with us!

Have a look at what I have created….

How’s that for busy? LOL!!!

Here’s a list of the dies I used all by Cheery Lynn….

~ Fanciful Flourish

~ Japanese Garden Lace Oval

~ Victorian Romance Flourish

~ French Pastry Doily

~ Italian Flourish Doily

~ Nautical Wheeler Doily

~ Small Lace Faerie Queen Butterfly

I think that covers them all!  I really enjoyed making this book and I hope it gives you some inspiration to get crafting!

Have a nice evening and thanks so much for stopping by!

Cherish the time spent together…

5 Aug

Good Morning Blog Friends!

It is such a beautiful morning here in Halifax, the sun is out and it is going to be another glorious day!!!  So far my weekend has been BUSY! but I am hoping to find some relaxing crafting time today in between chores 🙂  I really need to weed my garden but that always ends up lower on my priority list for some reason!  I have a project to share with you this morning and I want to post it as an example for the Mix It Up Challenge gang, I am hosting the challenge this week and I want to challenge them to a fancy fold 🙂  Have a peek at this…

The paper I used for this project is from a 6.5 x 6.5″ paper pad by KaiserCraft I picked up at The Cutting Garden.  This one is called Magnolia Grove and it is absolutely beautiful, it comes with die cut pages which is what I used for the sentiment on the front.  LOVE IT!  Now here’s where the fancy fold part comes in…

For the inside I cut a strip of paper slightly smaller and used my scoring board and scored evenly so I could make an accordion on each side to journal or add little pictures.

How sweet is that huh?  And SOOO easy to put together!

I hope everyone has a fantastic day and thanks so much for stopping by!!!

My Minds Eye, Lost & Found… Blush…

25 Jul

Good Evening Blog Friends….

My Minds Eye put out the most beautiful paper last year…  My favorite is the Lost & Found Blush paper line.  *sigh*  I have been hoarding it not wanting to use it because I knew I wouldn’t be able to buy anymore of it.  Kim has it in stock at The Cutting Garden and I know it’s just not going to last!  Oh Well…. I’m sure they will come up with something equally beautiful this year and I just CAN NOT WAIT!!!

One of my lovely co-workers, Wanda, asked me to make an extra special book for a family member who is seriously ill and her story simply broke my heart.  I couldn’t think of a better reason to break out my favorite paper and create something lovely for such a remarkable young woman….

Wanda asked that I leave loads of room for this lovely young girl to journal her life so I made it keeping this in mind, allowing lots of spaces for her to add pictures and to journal….

So this is the book I created for Wanda to give to her family member.  I have made loads of generic cards and books but this one is truly made from the heart… I am so pleased to make something that will mean so much to someone.  Wanda told me that this young lady would like to journal her life and I hope she thinks this book will be special enough for her.

It is very very rewarding to hand make something that is meaningful and useful.

Thanks so much for stopping by,

Memory Book…

17 Jul

Good Morning Blog Friends!

This is a rather long but quick post for me as I am getting ready for work.  So far it’s been a pretty busy week for me but I managed to get some crafty time in in the evenings 🙂  Lately I have been really enjoying making memory books and I managed to get two of these finished up…. I had to make two of these because I always take what I create into work and someone usually snatches it up, but I liked this one so much I wanted to make sure I had another to keep home for inspiration for when I want to create another one.  Here are pictures of all the pages of this book….

As you can see there are loads of places to journal and insert pictures.  The majority of the supplies that I used to make this book came from The Cutting Garden.  I think the spellbinders rolled flowers on the front cover are my favorite part of the whole book. This was such a fun project to make, it was a lot of work but I really enjoyed making it!

I hope you have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Now for Purple!

25 Jun

I am having a blast making these books!  I picked up some beautiful papers in purple and set off to work on another…. This is just a quick post as I am off to bed, I have to work in the morning….

I am working on another book using some pretty green colors and I will hopefully post that one tomorrow night if I can get it finished.

I hope everyone is having a great night and thanks for popping by!

Graduation Book….

24 Jun

Hello again Blog friends, you are going to have to bear with me for this post because it’s going to be another really long one!  A friend at work asked me to make her daughter a book for graduation and she asked that I make part of it nautical themed so here is what I came up with for her….

I am totally enjoying this book making kick that I am on!  It is so much fun making something different!

It would take me forever to list all the supplies I used for this book but if you have any questions I will make sure that I reply to your comments.  The paper line I used is from The Cutting Garden KaiserCraft Sweet Nothings Collection and Kim has this in stock.  It is absolutely beautiful!

I couldn’t resist heat embossing the Stampin’ Up! Hello Doily stamp…. I am obsessed with that stamp! LOL!!!  I added a beautiful pin, this is one of my favorite pages, I love how this one turned out.  Its great to be able to just randomly decorate each page anyway you want to.  I told Mary Anne that I would give her lots of places in the book to write little notes to her daughter so I added lots of tags for her to write on.

When you untie the bow on this page it opens up and she can write what ever she likes on it or she can stick small pictures in it.

Here are some more tags that I attached with a brass brad and they swivel so she can be moved to read the messages on each one.

What’s a book with out butterflies?  Need I say more?  lol!

Mary Anne’s daughter loves sailing so I added some pages dedicated to what she loves, this is a beautiful stamp and unfortunately the picture doesn’t do it justice, I used chalks on the clouds and water.. it turned out quite lovely.

More nice little tags she can used to write on, I put several in as other family members may want to write notes of encouragement to her.

This is a butterfly I had left over from a class I did a while back and the colors fit in perfectly so I couldn’t resist the chance to use it.

And finally, this is the back cover *happy sigh*  This was such a fun project to make, I loved working on every single page!

I hope you are all enjoying your weekend and thanks so much for stopping by!!

Happy Birthday Vicki!

8 Jun

Yesterday was my lovely Daughter, Vicki’s 23rd Birthday and I decided to make her a special keepsake…..

This is my second attempt at making a book, they are a lot of work but SO worth it!  This book is the ultimate use of my Hello Doily stamp as I have stamped it and heat embossed it several times throughout the project….

This is going to be a very long post because I want to give you a peek at all the pages 🙂

And the back cover….

As you can see, this Doily Stamp is going to be very well used! LOL!!!  I used Tim Holtz Walnut Distressed Ink on all the edges and I love the effect that this ink gives.  I am quickly becoming a distressed ink fan.

I hope my project has inspired you to find a bit of time to create!

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!
