Good Morning!  Happy Friday!  I am totally excited that the weekend is almost finally here!  It’s a long weekend and I am looking forward to enjoying some relaxation time at home and in my craft room!  A couple of weeks ago my friend, Shelly came to stay with me from Cape Breton and we had a fun crafty weekend.  I got a chance to play with her stamps which was really fun!

Friendship 1This stamp is by Stampin’ Up and Shelly brought so many with her I had a hard time deciding which ones to use!  Again with my obsession with blue… Sorry, hopefully I will get off this fixation soon lol!

Friendship 2Okay… now I am off to get ready for work!  I hope you all have a fantastic day and thanks so much for stopping by!

Good Morning!  Happy Friday to you all 🙂

I stopped into The Cutting Garden on my way home from work last night and I was so excited that the stamp I asked Kim to order for me came in!  It is called Adornment by Penny Black….

Adornment 001This stamp is absolutely beautiful heat embossed!  I can’t wait to try it in some different colors.  This is going to be one of my main Christmas card designs this year.

Adornment 002Kim ordered some extra stamps in if anyone else wants one!

Hope you all have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Good Morning!

I hit 200 followers yesterday!  So tonight after work I will do the draw for my blog candy!  I am excited to see who wins!

I have a pretty card to share with you this morning.  I used a different technique for this one.  I cut the image into 4, inked around the edges and then used my VersaMark watermark stamp pad and coated each piece and heat embossed it using glossy embossing powder.  Kinda gave it a tiled look, but the picture doesn’t show it very well unfortunately.

Butterflies 1I colored the butterflies in with copics and added some glitter to give them some sparkle.

Butterflies 2I have had this recollections stamp on my shelf for months but haven’t used it.  I felt it was the perfect stamp to try this new technique out and I am very pleased with the results!

I hope you have a great day…. it’s stinkin hot again here today!  Thank goodness for the AC!

Thanks for stopping by!!

Good Morning Blog Friends….

This is just a quick post as I am in a rush to head out to teach a class at The Cutting Garden.  I waned to share a pretty card I made this week using the Flourishes Magnolias stamp….

Magnolias 1This card measures 5.5 x 5.5 and I used the Recollections – The Sweetest Thing paper pad.  The ink I used is Color Box Fluid Chalk Prussian Blue.

Magnolias 2I hope you all are having a great weekend and thanks for stopping by!

Stampendous Dragonfly Vine….

Good Morning!  Happy Friday!  I am so pleased it is finally Friday, I work today and then I am off for a week on Vacation!  I can’t wait to go in to work and get it done!  Summer came all at once here in Halifax… It is stinkin hot here but thankfully we have air conditioning so when I find some time next week to spend in my craft room I will be nice and cool.  I have another 6 x 6 card to share with you using the Stampendous Dragonfly Vine stamp (that Carol snatched right out of my hands and bought a couple of weeks ago).  But no worries… I stole it back! LOL!!  Check it out….

Dragonfly Vine 001Check out that pretty design paper…  I have been hoarding three 12 x 12 sheets of it for over a year but I felt it was time to make something with it.  There is always new beautiful paper coming out and there is no need to hoard it.  The paper is by My Mind’s Eye and it is probably discontinued by now but oh well, I really enjoyed making this card and matching envelope so it was a good purchase.

Dragonfly Vine 002I chose a simple birthday sentiment for the inside and printed it on the inside and dressed it up with a little scrap of the design paper.

Dragonfly Vine 003I also added some lovely stickles to the wings and the vines around the dragonfly to make it shimmer.  I finished it off with a pretty bow, handmade pin and some lovely punched flowers using the rest of the scraps from the design paper.

I hope what I have shared with you today inspires you to get crafty and create something that will make someone smile.  This probably sounds a little corny but when I post something pretty to share with you all each morning it starts my day off in such a positive note.  I really enjoy blogging my crafty adventures and sharing my ideas with you all.  Thanks for subscribing, I love it that you are interested in my silly crafty creations!

Have a wonderful day and thanks so much for stopping by.

Good Morning!

One of my co-workers asked me to make a special Anniversary card for her daughter and husband.  She didn’t tell me anything specific she wanted, only what their names were. The only thing she asked is that it be a ‘big’ card….

Anniversary 001

I always worried about making the larger cards because the envelopes were so hard to come by but now that I have the new We R Memory Keepers Envelop Punch Board it is so simple to make any size envelope!  This card is 6″ x 6″ and I used the left over design paper to make the matching envelope.

Here’s a peek at the inside…

Anniversary 002For the inside I used the Martha Stewart Antique Heart deep edge border punch to make the fancy design at the top.

Anniversary 003The stamp I used on the front of the card is by Hampton Art and it is called Love Defined, it is heat embossed using Pearl Luster Sapphire.

Would you believe it took me 2.5 hours to make this card?  These days it’s like pulling teeth! LOL!!

I am off to work!  I hope you have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Gift Bag….

10 Jun

Good Morning!  It’s Monday already!  I had a couple of days off last week and managed to get some time in my craft room.  That always makes me happy 🙂  As you can see from my post yesterday I managed to get another class developed for the Cutting Garden and I have another one almost completed!  I love it when things come together like that 🙂

Okay… I have a gift bag to share with you this morning made with one of those lovely Prima Doll stamps….

Gift Bag 1

This is a quick and easy way to put together a unique gift bag for someone.  These dolls are SO PRETTY!  I love them!

Gift Bag 2I added a pretty hand made pin and of course some ribbon and butterflies.  I paper pieced the dress on my doll and added some stickles to the lace of her dress.

I am back to work this morning so I better get moving here.  I hope you all have a great day and thanks so much for stopping by!
