Trying to find my mojo….

28 Jun

Happy Friday everyone!  I have the day off today…. I am free to spend the whole day in my craft room and create my little heart out but my mojo has totally vanished!  I think I will just give up for now and head out with my friend Carol to do a bit of shopping.  I have a card to share with you today… I made it ages ago…

Cards 2I really like the layout of this card and sewing around the edge is a fun way to attach your design paper to the back mat.  If my mojo doesn’t return, I will just have to see if I can re-create something I have already made to see if I can give it a jump start.

Anyway…. Enjoy your day!

My Mind’s Eye 6 x 6 Paper Pads….

27 Jun

Good Morning!  It’s Friday for me and I am looking forward to getting to a 4 day weekend.  I am off to work today, it should go very quickly as I have lots to keep me busy as usual.

A few weeks ago I was surfing Pinterest for some inspiration and I came upon a lovely creation that I just hate to CASE…

Cards 1I have spent way too much time this morning looking for my original pin but of course I can’t find it right now.  I will come back later and add it to this post when I find it.  Sorry about that!

Anyway… I pulled out one of my My Mind’s Eye paper pads and created this beauty.  Kim has loads of 6 x 6 paper pads in stock at The Cutting Garden that are double sided and perfect for making cards such as these.  I love using my rolled flower dies and they were perfect paired with some of the purchased flowers I have in my stash.

Well, I’m off to work!  I hope you all have a fantastic day and thanks so much for stopping by!

What is blooming in my garden….

26 Jun

Hey there….  I had a couple of extra minutes this morning so I thought I would set a post for this afternoon to give you a peek at some of my beautiful blooms…  I love my garden although some of it is neglected a bit.  I have some huge plants in the front of my house that need to really be cut back as they are taking over the whole front yard! LOL!  Anyway… here’s some pretty pictures that Tony took last weekend…..

Garden 1Garden 2Garden 3Garden 4Garden 5These are Peony’s and Wagelia that are growing in the front of my house.  I really need to prune back the Wagelia this year… It is about 10 feet tall and 6 feet wide.  Totally out of control! LOL!

I hope you are having a great day!!!

Masculine Cards….

Good Morning!  We’ve made it to Wednesday!  I am sure everyone is really looking forward to the long weekend.  I am so lucky, I have Friday off as well so it’s a 4 day weekend for me then I am back to work for 4 days and then off for a weeks vacation!  At this point, I don’t even care about the weather…  I just want to kick back and relax.  I have some things I want to do around the house and yes, hopefully pull my mojo out of the closet where it has been hiding and maybe get some crafting done.

I have some masculine cards that I made a while back to share with you… Yes I am always behind with posting….

Gift Box and Card….

24 Jun

Good Morning!  I can’t believe the weekend is over so quickly and it is Monday again!  I didn’t spend much time in my craft room this weekend, the weather was just too fantastic and I spent most of my time on the deck and tending to my little garden.  I took some lovely pictures of what is blooming here at my place and I will share them with you later. A friend at work asked if I could make a gift box and matching card for a friend of hers that is retiring… Box 1Box 2I used the Martha Stewart Flower Bed border punch to make the lovely band of design paper around the entire box and then wrapped it with pretty ribbon.  I just punched both sides of the strip of design paper, it gives a lovely effect.  The butterflies are also from a Martha Stewart punch. Did that little white frame catch your eye?  That is a new toy I found at The Cutting Garden, It was made from the Martha Stewart Crafter’s Clay Heirloom starter kit.  What a fun little tool this is going to be!  It is a beautiful little set and will work wonderful on any mixed media projects or cards.  LOVE IT!  This kit comes with 4 molds and lots of clay to get you started. Good Morning!  It is a beautiful Thursday morning here!  The sun is shining and it is lovely and warm.  I am busy getting ready for work and I thought I would take a couple of minutes to post some masculine cards I made a while back but haven’t gotten around to posting…..

Masculine1Masculine2Masculine3I love the colors of these cards.  Very simple and clean cut with lots of embossing.  The 3 stamps I used are from various My Mind’s Eye sets that I have been collecting.

Wishing everyone a great day!!!

Sometimes simple is best…

19 Jun

Good Morning!  I have a quick set of pretty cards to share with you this morning.  It is a rainy morning here in Halifax and I am busy getting ready to head off to work….

Wed 001I love the layout of this card, it is very simple and easy to put together and the colors are so pleasant.  You could use this style of card for any occasion, even for baby cards.  I made these cards last week before I injured my back and I haven’t spent much time in my craft room since.  I haven’t been able to tolerate sitting for any length of time, but I am sure it will be on the mend soon.

Well I am off!  Have a great day!

Good Evening!  I have been laying low today nursing a sore back.  I have no idea how I hurt it but it has been killing me all weekend.  I took a friend’s advice and put ice on it every 15 minutes or so today and it is starting to feel a bit better thank goodness!  Geezzzz what a pain in the…. lower back 😉  Thanks for the advice Shelly!

Anyway… enough of my whining….  I thought I would share with you some pictures of a class I am teaching at The Cutting Garden on June 29th…..

Masculine – My Favorite Things Lighthouses

15 Jun

Advance posting is fantastic….  I love setting my blog up to post automatically for me in advance.  I get lazy posting on the weekend so sometimes I will just take an evening and set some posts up so I don’t have to think about it.

Here is a little masculine card I made last week using the My Favorite Things Lighthouses stamp set…

Posts 5This one is a super simple easel card stamped in VersaFine Oynx black.  I thought it would be a good time to post this card as it is Father’s day weekend.

I hope you are enjoying your weekend and thanks for stopping by!
